What are we looking for?
We are on the lookout for someone to oversee and manage all aspects of Finance Department - reporting to the Managing Director.
Key Responsibilities
- Production of management accounts (MA) for two companies – Monthly P&L, Quarterly P&L & Balance Sheet in line with strict Group deadlines
- Production of full-year re-forecasts, long-term plan and budget in collaboration with the Directors adhering to strict Group deadlines, including presentation to Group stakeholders
- Occasional ad hoc reporting to Group Finance Director
- Assist in preparing board reports for tri-annual board meetings
- Attend board meetings to present results and forecasts with any other relevant topic
- Production of ad hoc reporting to provide business insight where appropriate and presentation of same to senior management
- Production of annual year-end reporting including liaising with internal/external audit
- Lead annual external audit from planning to delivery of stat accountants to board
- Cashflow management
- Statutory reporting in relation to VAT, PAYE etc and payment relating to same
- Oversight of and responsibility for accounts receivable (AR) and credit control process reducing business risk where applicable
- Credit checking new customer account applications and monitoring of new accounts
- Oversight and responsibility for accounts payable (AP) function ensuring appropriate levels of control are implemented and adhered to
- Oversight of bi-monthly payment runs from AP in GBP & EUR
- Monthly reconciliation of all bank accounts in the finance system
- Oversight of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Administration of the Finance System
- Day-to-day management and development of finance team members (currently 4 direct reports), including 121s, training and career pathway plans
- Collating and checking of monthly payroll for two companies including raising payments through bank
- Constant improvement of controls and processes across the finance department
- Any other ad hoc tasks as required
What do you need to succeed?
Essential
Qualification
ACCA, CIMA, ACA qualified/finalist or qualified by experience.
Experience
- Proven experience of production of MA to strict deadlines
- Proven experience of completing VAT returns & other statutory reporting
Skills and Ability
- Attention to detail but also able to see ‘bigger picture’
- Intermediate/advanced Excel skills
Knowledge
Relevant procedural knowledge with regards to finance (MA, AP, AR etc)
