Truck-pulling is easier with Freightlink.
We have been proud to support this year's UK Strongest Man 2025 competition alongside the team at Walkers Transport.
The events which took place in Milton Keynes and Nottingham, brought in tens of thousands of spectators and was broadcast live on television to hundreds of thousands more.
As John Gaskell, Head of Contract Logistics at Freightlink, comments:
“The UK’s Strongest Man competition is a celebration of strength, discipline and talent from across the UK, and we’re thrilled to be supporting this fantastic sport for the 2025 quarter-final once again. And, of course, to continue our ongoing partnership with Walkers Transport, as their Irish Partner of Choice.”
The Challenge
Supporting events like this involves a lot of moving parts, with very little room for error.
The curtain-sided trailer would be carrying lifting gear, obstacles, large rocks, ramps, and much more.
This equipment would be present in virtually every part of the competition. To make sure the event could go as planned, and that the contestants could focus on doing what they do best, it was our job to ensure that everything else went smoothly.
The Solution
We organised for the trailers to be transported to mainland Great Britain via the Belfast/Cairnryan freight route, working with the team at Walkers Transport to ensure that all customs obligations were also met.
From Cairnryan, the equipment was taken on a journey across the country on several trucks, before finally reaching their destinations in time for the events.
Chris Burley, Commercial Director at Walkers Transport, added:
“At Walkers Transport, we pride ourselves on going the extra mile for our customers and partners—whether that’s delivering freight across the UK and Ireland, or supporting incredible events like UK’s Strongest Man. Collaborating with Freightlink was a fantastic experience. It’s great to see our logistics expertise playing a role in such a well-executed, high-profile event.”
After many, many months of hard work, the day was a huge success. We were even invited to attend the event ourselves, taking some of the snaps you’ll see on this page while we were there.
One of our banners took pride of place at the front of the Walkers Transport truck, which was stationed at the entrance of the Milton Keynes event to welcome the spectators and provide photo opportunities.
…Of course, we had to get in on the fun, too.
It’s been a long road to get here. They say that in logistics, when everything goes right, you don’t notice it. But when something goes wrong, everything else falls apart.
It was the hard work of our team, John’s excellent leadership, and the dedication of Walkers Transport and their team, that made this event the fantastic celebration of sportsmanship that it was.
Stephen Smith, our Head of Marketing, stated:
“A huge amount of effort was put into our preparation for this event and after attending this weekend with my family, it really paid off. This really is an amazing family event. Being part of it with the Freightlink team - and seeing our banners in the Ultimate Strongman arena - was a huge privilege. Well done to everyone involved!”
