Stena Line has released the following statement: 

Scotland TranServ are carrying out essential carriageway resurfacing works on the A77 carriageway at Smyrton, South Ayrshire. 

The works are due to commence at 8pm on Friday 13th December until 6am Monday 16th December, working continuously 24 hours a day under a full weekend closure of the A77.

Traffic management will consist of a full closure of the A77 during the times stated above, with a diversion in place for Northbound/Southbound traffic via. Newton Stewart. 

The works involve resurfacing approximately 0.5km of existing Trunk Road. Works are expected to be completed by Monday 16th December at 6am. 

This diversion will add approximately 60 mins to your journey.
