We continue to experience a high volume of vehicles being refused and delayed at the Ports of Calais, Dunkerque and Dover, which is due to incorrect paperwork being presented at check-in. To avoid delays as much as possible, please be reminded of the documents that are required to allow shipment:

Dover – Dunkerque/Calais

Import Declaration or a Transit (T1 or T2 for Irish traffic) with an Import MRN number/barcode (required for French Customs)

KAP (Kent Access Permit)

Please ensure that all vehicles entering Kent, for shipment to the EU, have completed the Kent Access Permit well in advance.

When completing the KAP, please ensure that the Unit number is entered in the application.

Dunkerque/Calais – Dover

Export Declaration (with an export MRN number/barcode) (required for French Customs)

GMR numbers are only required if under Transit (T1 or T2 document) (required for UK Customs)

Clearance Status Reminder

Please be advised that when waiting for your clearance in Port of Calais /Dunkerque, as soon as your status is GREEN you must leave the port immediately
